John Heward, Managing Director

With over twenty years within the industry, John has established and developed JH Mechanical Services into a small business with an excellent reputation in providing clients with exceptional service levels in the repairs and maintenance of their mechanical and electrical services.

Through building strong partnerships and a wide network of clients, John’s experience of successfully tendering for private and public sector work has allowed the company to grow and expand the services offered to clients ensuring their buildings are maintained and repairs to the highest standards.

The success to date has led to the successful award of contracts for established and prestigious clients such as Teesside University, Newcastle University, Thirteen Group, Coast & Country Housing; and many schools and school trusts such as Vision Academy, Northern Education Trust and Academies Enterprise Trust. Most recently John has established a new network which has brought new installation work and maintenance on sites such as Catterick Garrison and RAF Leeming.

Heather Heward, Finance & Investment Manager

Heather has over 20 years of experience and a proven track record in strategic business and investment planning in both the public and private sectors and is now instrumental in helping JH Mechanical Services plan and implement its plans for growth.

Heather has previously worked for two Local Enterprise Partnerships; with responsibilities for setting out Strategic Economic Plans for the local area and securing investments from government and the private sector to make this happen.

In more recent years Heather wrote the strategy for the £437m North East LEP area European Structural Investment Funds and designed the specifications for tendering skills and employability services through Big Lottery, the Education and Skills Funding Agency and the Department for Working Pensions; and secured funding to deliver business and skills projects and oversaw their delivery. This experience has been invaluable for JH Mechanical Services, as it responds to tender opportunities that offer significant opportunities for growth; ensuring projects are suitably financed and planned so they can deliver on time and meet client targets and expectations.

Heather has also demonstrated effective stakeholder engagement from her previous partnership roles which has proven beneficial when building relationships with clients and suppliers.

Heather has the following qualifications and accreditations:

  • Masters Degree with distinction in Local and Regional Economic Development from Newcastle University
  • Business Management Degree first class from the University of Northumbria
  • Over 20 years’ experience in finance, programme management & budgetary control systems

 

Mike Scott, Electrical Manager

As our Electrical Manager, Mike Scott is utilising his specialist skills and knowledge to develop and grow the electrical department within JH Mechanical Services.

With over 40 years in the industry, Mike has built strong partnerships with a wide network of clients and suppliers and has a vast experience of both the public and private sector; including schools and universities, factories, MOD sites, housing associations, offices and other commercial buildings. Having successfully won many major contracts of both maintenance and installation works across the north of England over the years, Mike is putting his experience to good use. He has established and leads an electrical team that has built a strong reputation for excellence.

Anthony Livermore, Business Development Manager

As the Business Development Manager for JH Mechanical Services, Anthony has responsibility for managing operations and projects, health and safety, and supporting the MD in account managing key clients.

Anthony brings a wealth of experience to the team, particularly in relation to project management and health and safety. In his previous role as Director of Operations as the Academies Enterprise Trust, Anthony had responsibility for procuring and managing contacts, project management within the schools for major works, facilities management and overall health and safety across the schools within the trust.   He also acted as the Health & Safety co-ordinator, Fire Safety Officer and was a member of the national Health & Safety committee, ensuring that there is effective health and safety arrangements are in place and that all risk assessments, method statement, policies and procedures have been undertaken, implemented and reviewed and have overall responsibility for accident investigation on-site.
